Envision Cinema is holding it's first ever 48-Hours filmmaking competition, open to all students in the San Dieguito Union High School District. Students who enter will write, film, and edit a short film on the weekend of October 14th, then see their film on the big screen at 6pm on October 22nd. Entry fee is $30 for teams of 1-4 members. Participants will receive a promotional 2011 MiniCine Fest gift, and two teams will win Cinepolis movie tickets for Best Overall Film and Audience Choice. Competitors can attend the showing on October 22nd for free. Friends and family are encouraged to attend for $5. Proceeds from CCA's MiniCine Fest will help pay for supplies and equipment for the CCA Envision Cinema club. See attached flyer for all details about the event. Envision Cinema Conservatory member Alex Powell will screen his documentary, "Preparation of a Generation," at the San Diego Asian Film Festival on October 23rd at noon in the Mission Valley UltraStar Cinemas. Alex was one of ten students selected to participate in the festival's "Reel Voices" summer program. Alex will also screen his film for his peers at the San Diego Asian Film Festival's Youth Day on October 25th.
